Duels with fellow Tarnished can be challenging, so prepare for PvP with us by learning how to choose your Weapons, Talismans, Armor, Armaments, Spells, and Stats.

In this Elden Ring video, we're going to show you how to make a PvP build, including gameplay moments from our very own build. The downside is they require you to spend longer out of cover to be effective. The good news is they have large magazines to allow you to keep that trigger held down and mow down the enemy. The kickback on these are pretty severe but get more stable the longer you're shooting. LMGs dish out lots of damage in long spreads of fire. They may vary in whether they're fully automatic or instead dish out bursts of bullets but essentially if you want a simple and effective weapon ARs are you go to. These are your jack of all trade guns, good at any range and able to put out some damage. They excel at pumping out a lot of bullets without too much recoil. SMGs are good for close to mid-range distance but have way too much damage drop off to be good for long range and are thus best paired with a sniper or assault rifle. They tend to have a slow reload speed and in some cases quite low mag sizes so it's a good idea to make sure your other main weapon is good for up close speedy reactions to compensate.

Marksman Rifles are great for picking people off from a distance (especially with modded scopes). They can also have a scope equipped to be very similar to marksmen rifles. They won't do as much headshot damage as say a marksman, but have a higher clip and are more versatile at closer ranges. Rifles are a good middle point between a marksman rifle and an assault class weapons. Make sure you have the best possible sidearm equipped in case you get into a sticky situation.

While you may not use it much, they have infinite ammo and can be really useful in a pinch. Sidearms are a very useful weapon to have. In the guns that we've tested, we've found this information to be accurate. Many of these stats were found thanks to Reddit user AdmiralRegis's spreadsheet which utilises data mining. Make sure to test weapons to find the best one for your playstyle.

How many mod spots they have, or other features like stability or damage drop off (if it does less damage at range) will also factor in. These lists feature several stats but it's not all you'll want to keep in mind when choosing a weapon. As such it's always better to check your own weapons but this will give you a general idea. In this section, we're only showing the normalized stats as you'd see for PvP to avoid any confusion towards this. In The Division 2, the same gun of different levels and rarities can have varying stats. As The Division 2 is a Loot Shooter you'll find you need to switch weapons often to be most effective so it's a good idea to get a handle on different weapon types. The rarer a weapon and higher its level will mean it does more damage and comes with more perks.

On top of that, you can also augment weapons with mods to further customize them to your playstyle. Weapons come in different levels and also rarities which will directly impact the stats and in some cases talents (special abilities/buffs) of the gun.
